You will only be able to see Salary approvals in either the portal or the back office. It is not possible for this information to be displayed in both.
If you can see approvals in the back office it means you are not configured to see them in the portal.
To see them in the portal, you need to remove the SLUSER row from your contacts section in your personal profile.
