Error - 'This start date cannot be amended as the persons current post is only effective from DD-MMM-YY'

Cannot update a contract start date - system produces either 'This start date cannot be amended as the persons current post is only effective from...' or an 'Effective Date Must be Greater than Person's Start Date' message.

This situation occurs when the effective date of the post profile associated with the contract is later than the start date entered. To resolve this, follow the steps below.

Portal guidance

  1. Navigate to Data Centre.

  2. Select View All.

  3. Search for Post Profile Maintenance.

  4. Search for the post via the post number.

  5. Edit Effective Date on the Post Details tab.

  6. Click Save.


Back Office guidance

  1. CorePersonnel, Maintenance, Post Profile Maintenance.

  2. Search for the Post.

  3. Edit Effective Date.

  4. Save.
