You can manually commence an appointment whose start date is now current, but the post is not configured to auto commence. You can action this is in the portal or the back office.
Portal guidance
To commence an appointment in the portal, follow the steps below.
Go to the People Management dashboard.
Search for an employee from the Command Centre widget (Employee Search).
Drill into the employee record by clicking View.
Go to the Contracts tab and select the contract from the dropdown.
If the appointment is in the Appointed status (Pending) there will be the Commence button in the right down corner of the screen.
Click Commence and enter the Commencement Date then OK.
Back office guidance
To commence an appointment in the back office, follow either method shown in the steps below.
Method 1
Select Core Personnel, Maintenance, Personal Profile.
Drill into the employee record.
Select Post Profile option on Select Detail menu.
The current Post Appointment Status is Appointed.
Click Appointment Details button.
Post Appointment Maintenance screen will display.
Select Commence Appointment option.
Enter in Start Date, and press OK.
Save.
Method 2
Select CorePersonnel, Maintenance, Post Management, Post Appointment Maintenance.
Query Post Number and Post Sequence.
Select Commence Appointment option.
Enter in Start Date, and press OK.
Save.
