HR event email notifications and test mode in PeopleXD

Find out how HR event notifications are triggered and how test mode lets you check them safely.

Written by James Pardy

Human Resources (HR) event email notifications in PeopleXD are triggered when a configured HR event is activated or occurs. Test mode lets you check how they work before they reach the intended recipients.

Test mode indicator functionality

The Test Mode Indicator in HR event configuration lets administrators test event-driven email notifications without sending them to the intended recipients. When test mode is enabled, notifications generated by the event go only to a system-designated administrator email address. This means you can test your configuration without affecting end users.

⚠️Important: Once testing is complete, disable test mode to resume normal email delivery to the designated recipients.

HR event email notification triggers and timing

HR event email notifications are event-driven. They're triggered by the activation or occurrence of a configured HR event, rather than running on a fixed daily schedule.

New Starter and Leaver events

Notifications for New Starter and Leaver events are typically triggered a configurable number of days before the start or leave date. The default lead time is often five days, and it can be adjusted during system setup.

Timing of notifications

The notification process runs as soon as the event is activated or recorded, and it usually completes within a few minutes. There's no set time of day when it runs, because it depends on when the event is activated.
