Note: The key to avoiding a rehire from showing on a dormant list is ensuring that the employee is fully dormant before being processed as a rehire. This will prevent any issues from occurring.
Scenario 1
The software is behaving as expected -- no manual intervention is required.
Simply wait for the employee's status to update automatically the next time you run the Complete Update Payroll Job (Pay355).
For a period of time after a rejoin, the employee may still appear in the CorePersonnel dormant list with a date left (and a latest start/rejoin date). This is due to the current stage of your payroll processing, and will update by itself to fully active ('S') as further steps are completed.
The employee is usually not dormant on CorePay - the only actual dormant status on CorePay is Z - so approved salary would not be affected.
Note: The Customer Support team cannot manually intervene to make the employee active earlier, as this can create knock-on effects in CorePay.
Scenario 2
When an employee is in a pay group that is not processed / no payroll runs are completed for it, then the employee will remain dormant until the employee is moved to a pay group that is processed.
Scenario 3
When an employee is in a pay group A , rejoined and moved to Paygroup B before complete rejoin
