This message indicates that a sequence start date in the previous appointment has a start date greater than the start date of the new replacing appointment.

The resolution to this is to amend the dates on the original appointment that you are trying to replace. For example,
The employees current appointment has a CO sequence start date of 01-Oct-17.
If you try to Create a New Appointment for the employee and Select Replace an Existing Appointment, the start date will have to be 02-Oct-17 or later.
If the new appointment start date needs to be less that 01-Oct-17, the sequence dates on the old appointment need to be pushed back. To do this, follow the steps below.
Select CorePersonnel, Maintenance, Appointment History.
Select the Employee's Personnel Number from the List of Values or manually enter. The employee's appointment history displays.
Drill into the appointment in question.
Amend the sequence start date to be prior to 01-Oct-17.
Click the Save icon. You cannot change and save multiple fields are once.
Amend the sequence end date, ensuring it is prior to 01-Oct-17.
Click the Save icon.
