Error - 'Error nnnnn does not have an active Primary Appointment effective on dd-mmm-yy setup not allowed.'

An error appears when attempting to bring an employee through to payroll. Message 'Error in Create Salaries. (employee no) does not have an active Primary Appointment effective on (date) setup not allowed.'

  1. Check Appointment History screen (Personnel, Maintenance, Appointment History) to see if an appointment exists with this start date.

  2. Check the substantive maintenance screen (Personnel, Maintenance, Post Management, Substantive Maintenance). See if a substantive dates exists for the appointment with an effective date the same as the date given on the error message.

  3. To enter a New Substantive Post, enter in the new Substantive Date (usually the date the post commenced) or when the post became employee's substantive post.

  4. Select Appointment ID from the List of Values (LOV) and tab across.

  5. Save.
