Amending contact types

Configuring additional contact types, such as an alternative email, and enable them for employees to view or update.

To add a new contact type or to review existing contacts, follow the steps below.

Portal

  1. Navigate to the People Management dashboard.

  2. Click Data Centre, then click Open next to Reference Data.

  3. Select Contact Type.

  4. Press Add.

  5. Enter a unique code and description for the new contact.

  6. Enable the ESS Display and Update fields.

  7. Click Save.


Back Office

  1. In CorePersonnel, click Reference.

  2. Select Reference A-C then select Contact Types.

  3. To add a new record, click on the green plus button.

  4. Click on ESS display and ESS update (if you want the field to be editable).

  5. Click Save.


Additional information

  • ESS Display allows the contact type to be seen in My Contact Details while ESS Update allows it to be updated by employees.

  • You can disable the update indicator for the email/contact types you don't want your users to have access to amend.

  • In order to be able to update any contact details, users will also need the menu option Contact Information Update enabled against one of their menu profiles.
