Error - 'Active Directory Synched accounts cannot change password...' when updating a password

Attempting to reset a user's account password via User Management in Security displays the message 'Active Directory Synched accounts cannot change password - 001', or alternatively 'Active Directory Synched accounts cannot change password - 002'.

This message indicates that the user connects to PeopleXD using an Active Directory account. You can confirm this by running an integrity test on their portal account. Follow the steps below

  1. From the dashboard menu, search and select Security.

  2. Click User Management, then locate the user in Search users.

    πŸ€“Tip: You can search by name, personnel number or username.

  3. Click the user's three-dot menu, then click Integrity Test.

  4. On the report produced, review the results for Test 2.

  5. The authentication type will be either ESS or AD.

    • If ESS, you can update the password in User Management.

    • If AD, the customer's IT team manages the password.
