Error 'Could not reserve record' when carrying out updates.

The error message Could not reserve record occurs when the information (or record) is currently being accessed by another user and is therefore locked from editing. To resolve, try the following.

  • Wait until the record is unlocked by the user or the database, i.e. try again later. Locked records are released after a certain period of time. This may take an hour or more.

  • Ask your security administrator to unlock the object by ending the holding session.
