The system will use the eligibility rules you've defined to determine the impact of any break in service as follows.
If an employee has a break in service period less than the number of days defined on the corresponding eligible service rules, the continuous service start date won't be impacted.
Where the employee has a break in service period greater than the number of days defined on the eligible service rules, the continuous service start date will reflect the new post appointment's commencement date.
When an employee's transferred into a post appointment that's not eligible for continuous service, their continuous service entitlements are set to zero.
Following the employee's subsequent transfer back into a post appointment that's eligible for continuous service, the continuous service start date will be reset in line with the service rules.
