When you have delegated your SSO authentication to an LDAP (e.g. Microsoft Active Directory), users log into PeopleXD Portal using their LDAP Account. When you use LDAP:
Passwords are not stored.
Authentication is delegated to an LDAP (e.g. Microsoft Active Directory).
LDAP allows for a user to log on to shared applications on their network using a single username and password.
LDAP username must be unique and recorded in the Contact Information screen of the employee’s record.
A user logs on to Portal using their LDAP account. The LDAP manages the Password Policy.
Users provides their login credentials
As part of this setup you need to record an employee’s LDAP username in PeopleXD, to do this:
Navigate to the Command Centre and open the Employees option.
Search for the employee and click View.
Click the Contact Information tab.
Next to the Ldap user field expand the 3-dot menu.
Click Edit.
Enter the username and click OK. Note: LDAP usernames must be unique.
