Password policy

How to access the password policy and review the rules for creating a new password.

Subject to their authentication type, new and existing system users will be required to update their PeopleXD portal account password. The new password will need to comply with the password policy. To confirm the password policy, follow the steps below.

  1. From the dashboard menu, search for and select Security.

  2. Click Password Policy, then locate the profile to be reviewed.

  3. Click ACTIONS, then select Policy Details.

  4. Under Password Rules, review the policy settings.

    • Minimum length - The minimum number of characters that must be used.

    • Maximum length - The maximum number of characters that can be used.

    • Allow username for password.

      • Enabled - User can use their username as a password.

      • Disabled - User cannot use their username as a password.

    • Prevent incrementing - Incrementing a number on your password,

      e.g. password1 to password2.

      • Enabled - Passwords can be incremented.

      • Disabled - Passwords cannot be incremented.

    • Upper case characters - Minimum number of upper case letters to be used.

    • Lower case characters - Minimum number of lower case letters to be used.

    • Digits - Minimum number of digits to be used.

    • Special characters - Minimum number of special characters to be used.

  5. The new password will need to conform to these rules.
