Portal: Add organisational roles to an employee or manager

How to amend organisational roles and enable users with approval responsibilities for specific tasks in the organisation.

Organisational roles (org roles) are used to identify employees that have certain managerial or approval responsibilities for specific tasks in the organisation. The following roles are available by default.

  • HR Salary Approver.

  • Payroll Salary Approver.

  • Reports To - typically used for Manager Dashboard access.

πŸ“ŒNote: Additional org roles can be configured for other tasks.

You have two screens available for administrators to assign these tasks via an organisational unit or by person. To do this, follow the steps below.

Maintain Organisation Roles

  1. From the dashboard menu, enter Data Centre in the search bar and select it.

  2. Click VIEW ALL, then click Maintain Organisation Roles.

  3. Under Structure, select the high level business unit.

  4. Under Organisation Group, select the grouping the role will be defined against, for example.

    1. Department for the Head of Department.

    2. Pay Group for Payroll Salary Approver.

    3. Work Group for Reports to Manager.

  5. Update existing details or click on Add to enter new information.

  6. Click Save then click OK.


Maintain Organisational Roles by Person

  1. From the dashboard menu, enter Data Centre in the search bar and select it.

  2. Click VIEW ALL, then click Maintain Organisation Roles.

  3. In Personnel No, search for and select the employee.

    πŸ€“Tip: You can locate the employee by entering their name or personnel number.

  4. Under Structure, select the high level business unit.

  5. Update existing details or click on Add to enter new information.

  6. Click Save then click OK.
