πNote: This article is based on users who are Superusers within an Organisation and any changes within EMS should only be carried out by a Superuser. Certain System Parameters need to be set up prior to using the EMS. These parameters are of a Technical nature.
This screen can be accessed as follows.
Portal - People Management, Data Centre, EMS Parameter Maintenance.
Back Office: CoreHR, Event Management, EMS Parameter Maintenance.
We have some general guidance to help understand the basics of this functionality. The parameter details are as follows.
EMS On / Off: When checked, EMS is turned on. When unchecked, EMS is globally turned off.
Email Separator: Used to parse / separate usernames on the "EMS Maintenance" screen.
EMS Event Software: Different software can be used to remind people of Events / Reminders. Currently 3 exist: CoreHR, MS Outlook'97 (via an OLE link). If MS Outlook '97 is not installed, then this option should not be selected. None is the 3rd option here.
SQL Dir.Path: The directory where the generated SQL files are stored. Note: '\' must be entered at the end of the path. An error will occur when the system attempts to use this path if this path is not available.
Create Script File: Name of the generated script file. Drop Script File.
SQL Plus Location: The location SQL Plus is executable. This is usually located on a server on client sites.
πNote: changing this location will affect all users
Mail Server: This stores the DNS Name or IP address of the mail exchange server.
EMS Mail History: Clears processed emails X number of days after email is generated.
EMS Username: This stores the description associated with the email address of the sender. i.e Who the reminder is sent from.
Administrator Email: This is the email address of the administrator of the EMS
Test Run: When checked, the email Functionality within the EMS is in Test Mode. This means that all Reminders sent via email will be sent to the Administrator only and not to their intended recipients.
