Portal: Add new reference data to your organisation structure

Create new reference data and add them to your organisation structure.

You may need to update your organisation structure to reflect changes in your company, for example, when you create a new department or open a new location.

To do this in PeopleXD People management, you need to create the relevant reference data, then update your structure setup.

Create a new organisation unit

To create new a new organisation unit in PeopleXD People Management, watch the video or follow the steps below.

πŸ“ŒNote: You need to create companies in PeopleXD Payroll and work groups in PeopleXD Workforce Management.

  1. From the dashboard menu, search for and select Data Centre.

  2. Click VIEW ALL or, next to Reference Data, click OPEN.

  3. Search for and select the relevant reference data. This can include:

    • Management Units.

    • Divisions.

    • Departments.

    • Cost Centres.

    • Location Codes.

    • Any other units used in your structure.

  4. Click Add then complete the required fields.

  5. If available, turn on the Active toggle, then click Save.


Add an organisation unit to the hierarchy

After creating new reference data, you need to add it to your organisation structure. To do this, watch the video or follow the steps below.

  1. From the dashboard menu, search for and select Data Centre.

  2. Click VIEW ALL, then click Structure Setup.

  3. Search for the relevant structure and click HIERARCHY.

  4. Click EXPAND ALL, then search for the relevant hierarchy item.

  5. Click the three-dot menu, then select Add.

  6. From the filter list, select Include Linked Items.

  7. Search for the reference data then turn on the Add to Hierarchy toggle.

  8. Click SAVE.
