To upload a data migration file, download the required template, open it to enter the necessary data, then save and upload it. Follow the steps below.
Download the template files from the Data Migration Templates widget.
You might need to rename the file with a .csv file extension.
Open Microsoft Excel and select File, then Open to open the template file.
The text import wizard should then appear.
📌Note: Always open the file using this method—do not open the template file directly. Select the pipe character (|) as the delimiter, and choose Text as the data format.
Once the template file is open, open the helper file for guidance.
After completing the import wizard, enter data from the row under the headings. PeopleXD uses the headings to identify the template file type during upload.
🤓Note: Ensure the top two rows in the file match the blank template exactly. Do not add extra data, such as pipe characters, to these rows.
When saving, select Save as and choose the .csv (comma delimited) format.
